Project Description

Positioned on lakefront property, The ERB invites you to step into a fully automated contemporary home situated in a gated community in Nevada County. Included in the design are details such as resin doors, a custom cast lighted glass counter, serpentine cabinet faces with vertical veneers and open areas offering the visitor the benefits of today’s advance building technologies along with all the comforts of home. Len Stevens Construction strives to keep abreast of the latest building techniques; not everything today is made from wood, and the ERB shows the best of what’s available today.

The Plan

Erin Miller working from afar, on the clients dream home remodel in Penn Valley, CA: These are some images e-mailed back and forth with the clients during the years spent designing and planning.  The clients lived in the bay area so the fact that she could send them 3-D CAD renderings created via e-mail was a huge help.  She would send images of ideas, design changes, color and material options.  “We could have very productive “virtual meetings” via e-mail” noted Erin.

These images are not really telling a specific story.  These are just some of the hundreds of images that were e-mailed back and forth over a two year period to make design decisions.  These were used to help them decide interior colors, materials, exterior colors, how to design the exterior structures and landscaping.  Again, the real story is just that it was helpful for her to be the designer, and the plan drafter.  Any design decisions made were incorporated immediately into the working drawings and available for the General Contractor Len Stevens Construction and the sub-contractors working on the project.  Erin’s professional 3-D CAD program allowed her to give the clients visual representations of their options.  She even provides 3-D color renderings for the builders because it helps them visualize what they are supposed to be constructing.  The pictures were worth thousands of words and helped us move forward even though the clients were hundreds of miles away from the job.

The Remodel

If you go to anyone else you are taking a chance.

Len did a major remodel to our home and it turned out just the way we had envisioned. The job was on Budget and on time.Len was on job and was always happy to meet with us on any day to talk about the project along the way. If we need something changed or tweaked he was happy to do it. He would help us by giving us suggestions of what could be done and then he would let us decide. Since Len has completed our home it has been featured in 3 newspaper articles and a home tour. Even after the job was done I have added things and he is always right there on it.

Being a business owner myself I am very critical about the quality of craftsmanship and personal service. I can truly say that Len Stevens construction is one of the best companies I have ever worked with.
